3.o is a quarterly mixer for content creators who are doing their damnedest to a make living off of their craft. To support a healthy media community in Victoria, we want to provide you and others a non-virtual networking event that promotes deeper connections among a variety of peers from a broad swath of disciplines.
We’ve made this an invitational event to keep from overwhelming our gracious hosts at the Office (or you) and, because we’re trying to create a space for those who specifically derive a livelihood from their skills in an era where practically everyone is making media. Contact us if you fit this criteria and are interested in attending future events.
We realize our selection process is imperfect, so as you think of others who might want to join future mixers, keep in mind that our definition of a media professional is quite broad. Along with practitioners of TV, radio, web, photography, print, and social media, we also want professional facilitators, poets, performers, and painters in the fray. The more perspectives, the more the potential.
We’re always open for ideas that will make it easy for these events trigger smaller, more intimate discussions, workshops, dinner parties, and other collaborations. With each other’s help, we can find ways to better navigate the unpredictability and potential of today’s dynamic media climate.
SOME BASIC RULES TO FOLLOW AT 3.0
- First of all, have fun. We believe in the motto, “If you want to change the world, throw a better party”.
- Try to stray a bit from familiar circles, and engage with folks you don’t know.
- Focus on challenges, ideas, and friendship. MtM events aspire to be “no pitch” zones.
- Be a good listener. It’s worth the effort.
- Initiate a post-event discussion, dinner, or coffee date.
- Give us input.
